Bancroft Construction Services served as the lead environmental compliance contractor for the construction of the Skookumchuck Wind Energy Project, a major renewable energy development in Rainier, Washington. Our team provided comprehensive environmental oversight for the installation of 38 wind turbines, a 115 kV substation, and a 16-mile 115 kV transmission line corridor spanning diverse terrain and ecological zones. As the primary point of contact for environmental compliance coordination with local, state, and federal regulatory agencies, we ensured seamless communication and adherence to all permit conditions throughout the construction timeline from October 2019 through April 2020. Our scope included full NPDES (National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System) compliance management for a cumulative 226 acres of disturbance area distributed throughout the project alignment, implementing stormwater pollution prevention measures, erosion and sediment control systems, and conducting regular water quality sampling and monitoring to verify compliance with Clean Water Act requirements and state water quality standards. Through proactive environmental stewardship and rigorous compliance protocols, we successfully supported the timely delivery of this transformative clean energy infrastructure while protecting sensitive environmental resources.
