Bancroft Construction Services provided comprehensive turnkey environmental compliance support for a major 75-mile, 230-kilovolt transmission line upgrade traversing the rugged Tehachapi terrain in Southern California. This complex linear infrastructure project required seamless coordination across multiple federal and state agency jurisdictions, including the Bureau of Land Management, United States Forest Service, and compliance with both California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) requirements. Our multi-disciplinary team delivered integrated erosion control, sediment management, biological resource protection, and stormwater compliance services across 47 graded transmission structure sites distributed along the remote, mountainous corridor. We implemented Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan protocols in accordance with the Construction General Permit, installed and maintained Best Management Practices to prevent sediment discharge in steep terrain, and provided construction access road support to facilitate safe equipment movement while minimizing environmental impacts.
Our biological monitoring team conducted pre-construction surveys and daily construction monitoring to ensure compliance with special-status species protections, implementing avoidance and minimization measures for sensitive wildlife and habitat areas identified during environmental clearance. We coordinated closely with multiple agency inspection personnel from BLM and USFS to ensure all work met federal land management standards and permit conditions, adapting our field operations to satisfy the distinct requirements of each jurisdictional authority along the transmission corridor. Upon completion of structure installation activities, our crews executed final stabilization measures at all 47 graded sites, including erosion control installations, slope stabilization, and revegetation efforts designed to restore disturbed areas and achieve permit closure.
